GOALS

At the beginning of my Full Sail journey, I set three goals. My short-term goal was to be the first person in my family to graduate from college with a degree. A medium goal to take what I learned to advance in my current job as a school librarian. The 3rd goal, long term to retire and share my experiences with others.

That first goal to graduate is coming in a few weeks. I am so excited to be so close to obtaining this goal. At 57 years old this is quite an accomplishment, and I am very proud of it.

I am a list maker, so I found setting goals is like list making. Both keep you focused and on track. Having that goal helped me to keep working toward my dreams. I also believe having a short-term goal which is easier to achieve keeps the longer goals from seeming overwhelming or unattainable.

To achieve the medium goal which is to advance at my work place I will submit my credits and associates degree to my work place and then start marketing the programs and events that we have coming up at our library. I will also create a website where our students and patrons can go to see what is happening at the library.

The long term goal is a little more difficult to plan but I find meeting one goal at a time is helpful.

Overall setting goals has been helpful for me. I have set goals in other areas of my life as well. I feel these are all goals I can accomplish and I look forward to seeing where these goals take me.
